Today the first teaser for Child Of God, directed by James Franco and starring Scott Haze was released. The haunting 45 second teaser features a beautiful tight hand-held shot of Scott Haze as the infamous Lester Ballard.
Child Of God is set to have its World Premiere this Saturday, August 31st, in official competiton at The Venice Film Festival. It has been confirmed that both Scott Haze and James Franco will attend the films premiere in Venice.
The official synopsis for Child of God, which is based on Pulitzer winning author Cormac McCarthy’s novel, reads:
“Set in mountainous Sevier County, Tennessee in the 1960s, Child of God tells the story of Lester Ballard, a dispossessed, violent man whom the narrator describes as “a child of God much like yourself perhaps.” Ballard’s life is a disastrous attempt to exist outside the social order. Deprived of both his parents and a home, and with few other ties, Ballard descends to the level of a cave dweller, falling deeper into crime and degradation”
Child Of God also stars Tim Blake Nelson and Jim Parrack and will have its North American Premiere next month at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and has also been officially selected to be part of the 2013 New York Film Festival.
